ART IN BLOOM

ART IN BLOOM THIS YEAR AT THE MINNEAPOLIS INSTITUTE OF ARTS        APRIL 26-29
THE THEME    ART IN THE GARDEN     THE POSTER  THE BUTTERFLY CATCHERS

THE IDEA:    A GARDEN STATUE COVERED WITH FLOWERS THE WAY BUTTERFLIES COVER A TREE OR BRANCH WHEN MIGRATING       THE PROBLEM:      THE CONCEPT IS TO SMALL FOR OUR SPACE      THE SOLUTION :         FRAME THE DISPLAY WITH A PAIR OF TOPIARY TREES       HERE YOU SEE THE FRAMEWORK FOR OUR PROJECT

TO ADD INTEREST TO THE VERY TRADITIONAL TOPIARY I DECIDE TO ADD CROWNS A NOD TO ENGLISH GARDENS    THE GREEN  IS CALLED OREGONIA

THE BIRD FEEDER CROWNS ARE FILLED WITH ROSES AND CELOCIA

THE GARDEN STATUE  THAT I WAS  GOING TO COVER WITH CYMBIDIUM ORCHIDS TO EMULATE THE LOOK OF BUTTERFLIES            BECAUSE  A WATER SOURCE WOULD MAKE IT APPEAR TO BULKY I CHOSE ECHAVERIA INSTEAD ALONG WITH SOME BRUNIA FOR TEXTURE         THE WINGS OF PALM BRANCHES WERE A LAST MINUTE ADDITION

GARDEN ROSES CYMBIDIUM ORCHIDS  AND ORNOTHOGULUM  ADD TO THE GARDEN FEEL

SOME OF MY DINNER COMPANIONS

IMPRESSIONISTIC OR OUT OF FOCUS?       A MASTERPIECE!

JUST BEFOR SHE WAS TACKLED BY SECURITY         THIS ENTRY DISPLAY WAS CREATED BY RICHFIELD FLORAL AND EVENTS
